Delete Your VLTA Account

This page is the dedicated entry point for requesting permanent deletion of your VLTA account and personal data, whether or not you currently have access to the app.

Delete from inside the app

The fastest path is from within the VLTA app:

  1. Open the VLTA app
  2. Tap Profile → Settings
  3. Tap Delete Account
  4. Confirm the deletion request

What gets deleted

Your account is locked immediately and your profile is removed from public view. We then permanently purge the following from our systems within 90 days:

  • Account profile and contact information
  • Tesla OAuth tokens (deleted immediately)
  • Stored payment methods (cleared immediately)
  • Push notification tokens (deactivated immediately)
  • Charger listings and uploaded photos (for hosts)
  • Booking history, messages, and reviews
  • Issue reports and uploaded images

What we retain

Certain records are retained beyond the 90-day window where required by law:

  • Anonymized transaction and payout records — retained for financial reporting, tax compliance, and dispute resolution. Your identity is removed; only the financial event remains.
  • Stripe payment processor records — retained by Stripe pursuant to their own data retention policies.
  • Session evidence logs — retained up to 18 months for chargeback and dispute defense, then purged.

Can I cancel?

Yes. If you log in to the VLTA app within the 90-day window, you will be prompted to cancel the deletion request. After 90 days, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Request deletion via email

If you cannot access the app, request deletion using the form below. We will respond within 24 hours and complete the deletion within 45 days, as required under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), with up to an additional 45 days for verification or system propagation.

Verification

To protect your account from unauthorized deletion requests, we may ask you to verify your identity using the email address or phone number on file before processing your request.

Outstanding obligations

If you have an active booking, an in-flight charging session, or outstanding payout/refund obligations, we may need to resolve those before completing your deletion. We will notify you if any such items are pending.

Confirmation

Once the deletion is complete, we will send a final confirmation to the email address on file. After this point, your account cannot be restored.
